This Sunday’s edition of Treasure Quest (28th January 2018) has come to Honingham again, we reckon the 4th time? The clue was quite difficult to work out – something about an old actor, and a backwards honour (remove “our”) but they made it! Photos below of Richard Whitely finding the clue, put there by Paul Blyth.
The new Notice Board has been put in place today in Fellowes Road. Thank you David Bishop, Tony Roberts, and Derek for all your hard work 😊
sadly the dog mess around the notice board is absolutely disgusting…..
Here’s a special Christmas delivery for everyone that uses the roads around the north of Norwich: 7.5km of brand-new dual carriageway!
Yes, in spite of all that the weather threw at us a week ago, the next section of the NDR will be open on Thursday morning (21st), from the A140 Cromer Road to the A1151 Wroxham Road, The best part of five more miles.
Thanks for all the patience shown during all the work – most recently on the A140 Cromer Road. The opening of the next section of NDR will make life a lot easier there. It should also start to reduce traffic on Fifers Lane and Norwich ring road, although we need the last section through to Postwick and the A47 to feel the full benefit.
But with the 6km from Fakenham Road already open, anyone coming in that way for work at, say, Rackheath Industrial Estate will have had their daily journey completely transformed!
Here’s a link to the Transport Matters newsletter that has more information:
Bellfolk Handbell Ringers are hosting an open evening on Thursday 7th December at 7.30 p.m in Honingham Village Hall. It’s their usual practice night and they will be playing mostly music for Christmas along with a few other concert pieces. They will be using all their bells, not just the 12 that they use when they play outside. It’s a very informal evening, there’s no charge to attend, and coffee, tea and mince pies will be available. There may also be a chance for people to “have-a-go”. Everyone is welcome so please pop along and see what they get up to.
We will be meeting in the Village Hall for a cuppa and a natter on Tuesday 14th November from 10 am to approx 11 am. All welcome, lots of news to catch up on over a cup of tea or coffee and biscuits. We will also be holding a raffle. We hope to see you there.
We will be holding our annual Autumn Fayre in the Village Hall on Sunday 5th November from 2 pm to 5 pm. There will be a Local History display, including (hopefully) a DVD on a continuous loop. We have lots of Table Games for children (adults too if you wish!), Craft and Produce stalls, a tombola and raffle. Tea Coffee squash and cakes will be available at a very generous price. A new idea this year, we will be having a “Best Single Bloom” and a “Most Unusual Vegetable” competition. Please bring your entries in the morning from 10 am if possible – or 1.50 pm at the latest……there will be a small prize for the winners!
If you have suitable prizes for the raffle and tombola stalls please contact Christine on 880217. We have one or two spaces available for a stall at the moment, please contact Ray on 881536 for details.
Come and join us for an evening with Shinanikins, bring your own alcohol (although squash will be provided), ticket includes a Ploughmans’s supper of either cheese or pate. Contact numbers on poster, or see any of the Village Hall Committee (Ray, Sally, Julie, Christine, Linda or Brian). All profits to Village Hall Funds.
