Police Connect – Safer Communities Awards

The following is a Police Connect message.

As Norfolk Constabulary’s Safer Community Awards reaches its first decade of recognising dedication and excellent service, we invite you to join us in celebrating the valuable contribution police officers, staff and the local community make in helping keep Norfolk a safe place to live, work and visit.

The Constabulary will once again be asking members of the local community to nominate a local police officer, member of police staff or community volunteer who they believe has gone that extra mile for them. Appreciation can be shown by voting for them in categories that range from Community Officer of the Year (nominated by district commanders in the Force), the John (Cecil) Mason Volunteer of the Year, Young Citizen(s) of the Year and Community Citizen(s) of the Year.

Voting forms will be available in the Eastern Daily Press newspaper and nominations can also be made through the NOSCAs 2017 website www.noscas.co.uk

Chief Constable Simon Bailey praised the awards saying: “Despite the challenges police forces face today it makes me very proud to be leading Norfolk Constabulary and serving our community.  We will always pull together in times of adversity and work together in times of prosperity and I am delighted to recognise people who go that extra mile.  In this special tenth year I would urge you all to nominate and vote for those people from your local community who you believe, through their actions and words, have made a difference to the area in which we all live and work.”

A new category has been added this year, the Response Team of the Year, and the Chief Constable will also be choosing recipients for the Special Recognition Award and acknowledging officers and staff with Bravery Awards, which recognise outstanding courage in the line of duty. Followers of Norfolk Constabulary’s Facebook page will once again be asked to vote for the Police Dog of the Year –
