You kept that quiet, Paul Blyth!!!!! The “celebrity” for the official opening of the phone box………was……Radio Norfolk’s Treasure Quest!!! Paul had planned this, and had to keep it secret, since March of this year – well done Paul, excellent choice. Sadly the team on the Treasure Quest didn’t manage to get to Honingham in time for the 12pm deadline, but the radio car and presenters still came along after 12pm to open the box and broadcast the story of our phonebox. Bryan Web had organised his American Airforce friends to come along with some of their vintage vehicles, and Bryan also brought along his collection of old photographs of Honingham and the airfield during WW2. There were lots of scrummy home baked cakes along with teas, coffees and squash. A good time was had by all, and the donations for refreshments amounted to £112 – which is being given to the Village Hall funds. That total included a generous donation from The Buck – thank you!
There are several photo’s if you click here taken by Jerry Bart, of the event.
